See, this is why you leave a box of Entenmann’s coffee cake for squirrels when you get married outside. It’s like leaving milk and cookies for Santa. Just give the lil guys something to nom on so they don’t disturb your fancy blue flower cake like this enterprising fellow. He’s literally burying his tiny, diseased claws inside a thick swirl of icing. Mmmm…rabies.

What surprises me is that someone actually sat there and took a picture of it instead of trying to scamper away the squirrel to save the cake. I guess this person just likes squirrels

OK who is the idiot that stood right there holding a camera and let this happen?

  4. November 6th, 2009 at 10:57 | #4

hahaha I’m cracking up that someone apparently stood there and watched this and took a picture, rather than stopping it.

Squirrels don’t actually have rabies…though its possible for any species to get/give rabies, there have been no reports of squirrels in the U.S. or in many other countries with rabies.

I was working in a kitchen when the scatterbrained manager ran in looking for a new cake because the one the customer had ordered had been eaten by a squirrel. Seems he decided to drop in and see how things were going, and thought the icing might melt as it was too warm in the house so he put the cake outside…. yeah that fixed the problem

It’s not unheard of for brides to have a sense of humor and a fondness for cute vermin. She may have insisted the photog document this, just to prove that it really did happen!

Or perhaps they only saw the squirrel once it was already nom nom noming on the cake, and by that time it’s too late. I wouldn’t share a cake with some vermin.

Hey, do not start to worry until the fuzzy tree rats find the coffee carafe – that is what all hell will break loose.

Is that a squirrel, or is it a chipmunk? LOL! Either way.. ewwww!

Squirrels are actually pretty funny. We have a couple of them running by our balcony daily. They just sit on the edge, look through the window and wait for us to give them nuts. It’s pretty funny looking at them.

    @Woohoo

They rarely have rabies, but they do carry Black Death.

    Enjoy the cake (f-ing squirrels).

Oh, you know how coffee makes them poop EVEN MORE.

This reminds me of a camping trip. Stupid squirrels chewed through the Rubbermaid container and ate our food. They’re like warm-blooded, furry cockroaches.

Hehe, I love squirrels they are so entertaining. The ones in London actually climb on you (though it hurts because of their claws).

They can just cut out the bits it has touched.

The guy on River Cottage show was trapping and cooking them in stews, etc.

That’s a female squirrel, who has been nursing. Maybe it’s HER wedding cake! You can’t blame a girl for trying, right?

Weeee-eeeell if she’s been nursing she deserves a bit of cake! What female wouldn’t want some cake after that?

I’ll bet half the people who go “eww” at this, let there dogs lick them on the face. I’d rather risk this than have an animal that licks it’s own butt touch my face!
